Charlie’s story…

Charlie came into rescue neglected, poorly socialised and timid, needing extensive veterinary and cardiologist tests and treatment.

Amazingly, he has made it to the grand age of 15 but suffers from Tracheobronchial, Ocular and Cushings Diseases, requiring medication and bi annual blood tests for the latter.

Dear little Charlie is a sedentary dog and still exhibits solitary behaviour, he trusts only one person, sadly doesn’t like to interact, be stroked or picked up and he lives in his own world, which consists of being tucked up in the comfort of his own cosy bed, with the highlight of the day being dinner and treat times.

Latest Update: Poor DCR Charlie has Cushings Disease and sadly isn’t doing very well at the moment. The main joy in Charlie’s life is eating and treats, however, he is losing weight and last week stopped eating. His veins are not good and it has taken several vets to finally get enough bloods for Cushings and FBP, unfortunately his vein popped, then his blood was coagulating and yesterday’s vet visit ended up as a bloodbath. Thankfully Charlie is comfortable, he is eating again and loves his chews and treats, even though he has no teeth. Charlie usually sleeps all day in his own badket, but has recently taken to playing musical beds, he jumps between the 3 and the other dogs get a shock when they try to burrow in and Charlie pops out
